Kalani's silly and creative personality is really starting to shine. He still loves music, in particular HSM3, which calms him when nothing else will. He LOVES to dance and last week, he developed his "thriller" dance. He cracks himself, and us, up every night as he experiments with strange new sounds and games with his daddy. They have one new game called the birthing canal (I know, the men in my life are quiet eccentric). We have also moved into a great new phase: going to bed and napping on his own and then sleeping through the night.... Aaahhhh.... it is bliss. Don't know how long this phase will last, but I am loving it.
Unfortunately, we have also moved into the stage of low frustration tolerance, quickly changing moods, and tantrums...the really annoying kind where the child throws himself backwards, arching his back, while uttering a piercing scream. Joy. It happens at the best of times... like when we are out to eat or during the middle of a church service. I'm sure it is "normal" but it gives me a new appreciation for all people who have endured parenthood.
For the most part, luckily, Kalani is our sweet, social, easily amused little guy. The following post is a memoir to the last 17 months of our smiley boy, with many of my favorite smiley boy pics. It begins with Kalani's first smile at home, just a couple days after he came home from the hospital.
