American Idol "dance"

Kalani came up with a new "dance" tonight beyond his typical bouncing/butt shaking gyrations. If you take a close look at his fancy moves, you'll notice that it is actually... just his walking in circles. However, he had a blast doing it so who am I to judge? It made him so dizzy that he kept falling over - but he was not to be deterred. He kept this up for a good 10 minutes.

Ram Tough

I found a great find at a garage sale last weekend - a 50 cent Dodge Ram 1500 miniature truck which plays music, makes all the necessary "vroom-vroom" noises, and honks the "charge" anthem. Kalani loves it. He dances when the music plays and he scoots all around the living room pushing his truck as he goes. It's pretty interesting to me how he migrates towards cars and trucks, because up til now I don't think we've really fostered his interest in them as much. From the start (or at least since Valentines when he got his first car from Rashawn) he has been enamored with them. When I first saw him pushing the car along the carpet last month, I wondered how he knew what to do with it. Just goes to show you how much smarter our kiddos are than we give them credit for (hopefully when he's a teenager he won't use this line against me).

One more picture of K-man and his truck - just because I love that belly so.

The Sound of Music

We watched one of my favorites, The Sound of Music, tonight. Here is Kevin teaching Kalani how to sing in the shower...

Mother's Day

To my Bubba,

What a wonderful experience this last year has been, getting to be your mommy. I can't imagine a life without you. You are more wonderful than words can express, and you teach me something important every day. I feel so lucky to be your mommy.

I love you sweet Lani.

Parties Galore!

When we were little girls, my dad used to tell a joke that he thought was hilarious. He'd always ask, "Why do you want to go to a pautty (aka "potty" but in reference to "party")?" Then of course, he'd laugh. Well, in case Grandpa Walter wonders, we have found many excellent reasons!

Spending time with friends....

Watching big girls turn one!

Helping to blow out candles and try some cake...

And for the fun environment to explore!

At Aidan's sixth birthday party, Kalani got to try out a video game with his dad. He was most helpful, pointing out some good tips...

But thank goodness he is my child, and he knew when he was done!
