I know that, in general, people start the countdown at 10... but I feel like I need a longer transition. Much has happened since the last blog - including about 1 million birthday parties, Mother's Day celebrations, three more baby showers, Wicked, and a graduation! And I am now officially FULL TERM! I am continuing to try to unpack our home - very slowly cause it is all by my lonesome, as Kevin is now going on his sixth week in St. Louis. Including Mexico, he will have been gone two full months, with some occasional weekends home. I must say, I don't care for him being gone. Both Woody and I are ready for him to come home to stay on Friday! We are planning to celebrate KB's birthday on Saturday - he will be 33 (which he reminds me is the age of Jesus when he died - I'm not sure what his message is with that). I have been telling Woody that he really needs to wait for his Daddy to come home before he decides to be born - and since I was zero percent
dilated and effaced at my doctors
appointment last Friday, I think he is actually minding his mama.
These days, I am feeling a little slower to get every where. Fighting a cold, some nausea, swelling, and the typical aches and pains that pregnancy brings - but all in all, I don't feel like I could have a baby in a couple weeks. It is still quite surreal. I've been watching all sorts of movies that involve babies and trying to picture myself in those scenarios. Odd how after all this time of wanting a baby, the idea still feels so foreign...
Here are a few pics from my adventures these past three weeks...
Buckner baby shower - Tina's lovely artwork (which tastes so good!)

With sister Debbie - just "monkeying" around

Aidan and Andrew's superheroes birthday party

Capturing the bad guy (aka Dale)! Go Superheroes!

Pari's 1st birthday - feeding her daddy some cake

Khamphakdy Mother's Day outing... with the whole gang (minus Kevin)

I have been nesting A LOT - part of my work has been to get the baby's room ready. Just over a week ago, all we had was a dresser set up . It still looks a bit bare without anything on the walls, but it's progress. When I put the mobile up on the crib, it was an incredible moment to think that one day, there would be a baby,
our baby, sleeping under it...

I'll be thinking of you, hoping your last few weeks go well (and that Woody waits for daddy to arrive!)
