Kalani's Many Kisses

Kalani loves to kiss. Big wet slobbery kisses. Thus far, I have named four of his characteristic kisses... His "Hollywood Kiss" is very dramatic, with much head shaking back and forth in preparation to kiss and much face nuzzling while kissing. His "CPR Kiss" requires him opening his mouth as wide as possible then placing it over as much of your face as he can - then he blows in an attempt to revive us. I must say it works every time. There is also another variation of this one, which I call his "Sweet Nothings Kiss." Instead of blowing, he babbles or sings. His "Love Hurts Kiss" is actually a pseudo kiss in which he leans in as if to kiss, then it becomes a last minute bite.

Here he is giving Grandma a CPR kiss. He had to make it a good one as G and G have been missed while they've been in Mexico!

I have been attempting to get a good photo of Kalani's teeth, which finally began to emerge in early February. See below two little pearly whites [also see earlier reference to "Love Hurts Kiss"]

The apple falls not far from the tree. Similarly to Kevin, Kalani can typically be found on the computer. He seems to be rather confident that he knows what he is doing. I give him another year before he surpasses me in computer skills...

oh my sweet boys

I have been telling Kevin all the benefits of little boys owning dolls. I really want Kalani to have one and think it will be great for his social development. So far, I have bought a little blue checked toy baby carrier for him at a consignment sale ($1 - can't beat that!) but we still have yet to get a baby doll.

One Sunday, several of our CPS friends felt inclined to introduce Kalani to a doll, placed at the back of the sanctuary of a church we were visiting. He found her very intriguing. I can say for sure this is not the type of doll I had in mind...

The Smiths, Clarksons, and Browns got together for a grill out and playdate. It is one of the few times that Kalani has gotten to play outside. He wasn't sure what to think of the wagon. Pari, on the other hand, wasn't too interested in letting me drive (I think Vadsana's been telling her stories), and she jumped ship before we made it too far.

The others thought they might like to bury Kalani in a pile of leaves. He was a good sport.

Bah! AKA ball

I'm sure everyone else's homes feel like playland to Kalani., as Kev and I have bought so few toys. Eli, thanks for sharing!

We have finally, after much anticipation, met our Parents as Teachers educator, Lucia. Kalani was very interested in her goody bag and her purse, which he began nosing into shortly after she arrived. Yes, he has lovely manners. Lucia, thank goodness, didn't seem to mind. We are really looking forward to her return at the end of the month for Kalani's screening!
